Call for Proposals

The National Rural Social Work Caucus invites you to submit proposals to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Annual National Institute on Social Work and Health and Human Services in Rural Areas, July 17 - 20 in historic Lewisburg, West Virginia. The ethos of the conference is to joyously explore our unique roles in serving and preserving rural areas, cultures, and traditions.

We hope you will make plans now to join with other social workers, human service professionals, and advocates to celebrate this milestone and to renew the Institute’s objectives as a forum to learn about best practices by agencies and to present research about rural issues, needs, and models for practice.

A hallmark of the Annual Institute, which has travelled to 34 states from border to border, is to foster deeply meaningful networking with current and new friends and colleagues who share your own commitment to rural practice and advocacy, and to hear others’ as well as your own voice on long-standing rural issues and new challenges.

As the important policy and practice issues for rural social work that prompted the Caucus’s formation fifty years ago have changed and new issues are identified, the Institute continues to provide an opportunity to learn new models and techniques to work and advocate at the local, state, and national levels.

Please join us as we commit ourselves to practice, educate, and advocate in and on behalf of rural areas with renewed energy and vitality.
