Southern West Virginia Branch

On May 22 Chapter President M. Marie Newcomb-Lewis, MSW, LCSW, LPC lead a discussion on emergency mental health services. The meeting was held in the State Room in the Jerry and Jean Beasley Student Center on the campus of Concord University.

M. Marie Newcomb-Lewis is Chapter President

M. Marie Newcomb-Lewis, MSW, LICSW, ACSW, LPC, of Daniels, WV is the current President of the National Association of Social Workers West Virginia Chapter. She will serve as President of the Board of Directors for thru June 30, 2020.

Ms. Newcomb-Lewis recently joined the faculty of Concord University Social Work Program. She had previously served a Team Leader for the Behavioral Science Center at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and as a Field Placement Instructor and as Adjunct Faculty for the Concord University MSW Program.

She earned a Master of Social Work degree from West Virginia University in 1982 and is a member of the NASW Academy of Certified Social Workers. In addition, she is licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker by the West Virginia Board of Social Work, and as a West Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor.

Marie has served as Co-chair of the Ethics Committee for Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and is a member of the WV Ministry of Advocacy and Workcamps, Inc. Board of Directors. She has previously served as the NASW WV Chapter Beckley Branch Leader and as the Southern Regional Representative to the NASW WV Chapter Board of Directors.
